AWARDS PRESENTED TO CELEBRATE RHINO CONSERVATION

The Rhino Conservation Awards 2014 were held on the 31st of July 2014, at the Montecasino Ballroom, Fourways, coinciding with the celebration of World Ranger Day as proclaimed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

GRAA AGM 2014

DSC 0696At the end of April 2014 the Game Rangers' Association of Africa (GRAA) hosted its 44th Annual General Meeting at Nakavango Camp, Stanley and Livingstone Game Reserve in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The event was attended by rangers from far and wide with members travelling from South Africa, Zambia, Namibia, Botswana and of course from within Zimbabwe itself.

Golf Day 2013

DSC 0460The Game Rangers Association of Africa (GRAA) hosted its annual Fund Raising Golf Day and Auction Dinner at the Wanderers Golf Club in Johannesburg on Friday 4th October 2013. 80 golfers participated in a very successful day out in which fun was had by all.

The Rhino Conservation Awards 2013 was another great success! At last the people who dedicate themselves in the fight against rhino poaching in Africa are being recognized for the work they do.

The Inaugural Rhino Conservation Awards

Working in conjunction with The Game Ranger's Association of Africa (GRAA), Currin't Events managed The Rhino Conservation Awards which were established to recognise those people who dedicate themselves in the fight against rhino poaching in South Africa.

The Award which is endorsed by The Department of Environmental Affairs, is sponsored jointly by Hasselblad Cameras and Ms Xiaoyang Yu, Founding Partner of China New Enterprise Investment (CNEI), a China focused growth capital fund with the aim to increase capture and prosecution of poachers and to cut demand for rhino horn.

World Rangers Family Day Event was a great success

International World Ranger's Day is celebrated annually on 31st July. In support of the men and women in this honourable profession, the Game Ranger's Association of Africa (GRAA) held a Family Day on Sunday 5th August 2012 at Joburg Zoo.

Professional event organisers, Currin't Events were responsible for the project management and logistics of the event. The event was a great success with over 700 people (moms, dads and children), taking part and enjoyed their day out learning about conservation of our precious wildlife.

Game Rangers Association of Africa score hole-in-one for rangers

The Game Rangers Association of Africa (GRAA) enlisted the services of Currin't Events to assist with its annual fundraising golf day. The GRAA is an NGO that commits itself to the protection, conservation and, where possible, restoration of Africa's biodiversity, and the continued existence of its wilderness for the benefit of present and future generations. One of the roles the GRAA has is to train and equip game rangers with the necessary skills to protect Africa's wildlife, which includes training in weapons-handling and tracking, to fight the poaching of rhinos and other animals. It costs R10 500 to train a single ranger, and the GRAA selected this training programme as the focus for the funds raised at the golf day.
