Training Course Development


The Wildlife Crime Scene Course material was completed. Interest from various private wildlife reserves for this training has been forthcoming. An advanced First Aid Course specifically aimed at Field Staff has been endorsed by the committee and development thereof will commence in 2013.

A Junior Rangers Course was proposed to the committee and endorsed. The course entails different levels for 2 -3 age groups. The courses intent to stimulate a crop of young rangers, by exposing them to various field activities such as tracking, bird identification, basic field skills, etc. The proposed courses will be presented to school groups at the SAWC as well as a venue in the Umfolozi Game Reserve. Various NGO’s has already expressed interest in future discussions with respect to potential collaboration.

All courses will be under the auspices of the GRAA. Presenters will be paid a fee for their work. An administrative fee of 10% will be levied to cover the GRAA’s expenses.
