Profiling Rangers
THE CHALLENGE:
Rangers are often undervalued and underappreciated, resulting in limited support for the important work they perform on the frontlines of conservation.
Many people do not fully understand the critical and diverse role that rangers play in conservation efforts that benefit species, habitats, ecosystems and communities.
OUR RESPONSE:
The Game Rangers' Association of Africa aims to raise the profile of Africa's rangers, highlight the challenges they face and increase support for them by influencing policy and raising funds.
This programme focuses on capturing powerful images and stories that accurately portray the rangers of Africa and highlight their diverse and critical role as guardians of the continent's wild places.
Through the African Ranger Imagery Library, the GRAA showcases the essential conservation work performed by rangers across Africa. These images and stories help raise the profile of rangers, increase public understanding and strengthen support for their work.
